Here are just a few ideas:- Around Koh SamuiA tour by boat around the coast of Koh Samui will give you the opportunity to see many of Samui's famous landmarks as well as its lesser know remote and unspoilt beaches and coast line. On the north shore is the famous Big Buddha Temple. On the east coast is the quirky Grandmother and Grandfather Rocks. On the south coast are some remote uninhabited islands great for snorkeling while on the east coast are 5 small islands no more than outcrops of rocks where people live to protect and harvest the birds nests, the ingredients of Birds Nest Soup. Koh Samui has a circumference of approximately 80 km so can easily be circumnavigated in one day while an overnight trip would allow you to spend more time at different locations and soak in the natural environment. Koh Phangan & Koh MaEnjoy the natural beauty and wild nature of Koh Phangan and its surrounding coast. There are many beautiful beaches, secluded bays and waterfalls to explore and many are still only accessible by boat. At the north end of Koh Pangan is the small island of Koh Ma, best spot for snorkeling. Other beaty spots include Koh Tainok, Chaloklum, Tong Nay Pan and on the south of Koh Pangan is Haadrin Beach, famous for the Full Moon Parties. The southern end of Koh Pangan is only 30km from the north shore of Koh Samui so it is possible to make nice relaxing day tour while an overnight tour gives you the chance to soak in the rugged unspoilt natural beauty of the surroundings. Koh TaoImagine a small tropical island with incredible snorkeling and scuba diving, a rich jungle in the centre and surrounded by remarkably quiet, palm tree laced beaches. You're imagining Koh Tao, a small island approximately 80 km north of Koh Samui. In the beginning Koh Tao was uninhabited, and only the occasional fisherman from the neighbouring islands came by to seek shelter from a storm. On June 18, 1899, His Majesty the King Chulalongkorn (Rama V , 1868-1910) visited Koh Tao at Jor Por Ror Bay next to Sairee Beach. This place is still worshipped today and should be treated with respect. Ang Thong National Marine ParkAng Thong Marine National Park is an archipelago of over forty islands west of Koh Samui, covering an area of 250 square kilometres, of which 50 square kilometres is land mass. The name Ang Thong means "Golden Basin" and was declared a national marine sanctuary in 1980. Most of the islands are limestone outcrops reaching heights of up to 400m and fringed by beaches and tropical rain forest. On the island of Koh Mae Ko is a closed lagoon called Thale Nai (Inner Sea). Thale Nai is surrounded by overhanging cliffs, and connected to the open sea by an underground cave. Thale Nai is accessible via a path that leads through natural rock tunnels to the rim of the cliff wall. From Thale Nai, one gets stunning views of the archipelago and turquoise waters below. |
