10-14 October 2013 All prices include 3 delicious meals per day plus snacks and hot and cold soft drinks. A rare opportunity to visit some of Malaysias famous east coast dive sites from the comfort and convienience of a liveaboard Thurs 10 Oct The M/V Scuba Explorer is 36 meters long and 8 meters wide making her one of largest steel-hulled liveaboards in Thailand. The ships size and spaciousness will surprise you, the cabins are larger than normal on a liveaboard and the Sun Deck and Diving Deck are absolutely enormous. The entire ship is air-conditioned, and can comfortably accommodate up to 24 guests in 12 cabins from en-suite with double bed to standard bunk bed rooms. This trip is not exclusively gay - we will be sharing the ship with other divers. Pulau Perhentian Perhentian consists of two islands - Perhentian Besar (Big Perhentian) and Perhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian) The area is about 1.5 hours sailing time from the mainland town of Kuala Besut. Dive sites are varied, from current swept rocks to gentle slopes covered with sea anemones. The Redang Marine Park Located about 20km off the mainland and consists of a group of islands: Pulau Redang, Pulau Pinang, Pulau Lima, Pulau Ekor Tebu, Pulau Perhentian Besar, Pulau Perhentian Kecil, Pulau Susu Dara, Pulau Lang Tengah and Pulau Kapas. In total there is said to be over a hundred dive sites scattered around this area Famous dive sites include Tanjung Tokong and Tunnel Point with abundant marine life in maximum depth of 30 metres. At Tunnel Point, large boulders pile up to form tunnel-like structures that divers can swim through. An impressive underwater scenery combined with wide variety of marine life such as humphead parrotfish, barracuda and jacks. Tenggol Island The big attraction here is wall diving as the island has steep rocky cliffs on its eastern side facing the South China Sea. There are several submerged rocks and some pristine coral formations here with the walls dropping down some 48 meters. Fish life here includes bumphead parrotfish, jacks, lizardfish and occasional whitetip sharks. Popular dive sites include "Amazing Grace", "The Fishbowl" and "The Highway" this last one named after the strong currents that are often experienced there. There is also Teluk Air Tawar, a gently sloping bay on the west coast of Tenggol with some impressive coral gardens. Kuantan Wreck  She is resting on her port side, at 23 meters deep. The top of the wreck is at 14 meters and is easily dived by novice divers. Surrounding the wreck are large wire-mesh fish traps scattered by local fishermen. Her length is about 80m and she is 10m wide. The propeller is still in tact and quite large. It is covered with growth and its crack is also the home of a moray eel. Pulau Kapas  This small island north of Tenggol also has a wreck off its coast, the 50 year old Japanese landing craft wreck sits upright. Her anti aircraft guns lie at the bow, carpeted with growth of soft corals and sponges. Frequent encounters with whale sharks at this site makes up for its poor visibility. Â
