In addition to the schools of giant manta rays, Yap offers divers miles of pristine reefs with many species of marine life and coral. Dramatic walls, drop-offs and caverns create an enthralling underwater landscape.

The state of Yap is one of four states of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). The islands of the FSM stretch out over 1,800 miles in the western Pacific Ocean. There are over 100 land masses in Yap State, but only 22 of its islands are inhabited. The main island group of Yap, called Yap proper, is located north of the equator, 640 miles south of Guam.

Yap is the most traditional of the four distinct societies of FSM. The FSM is a sovereign nation with its own constitution. Under the provisions of the Compact of Free Association, a treaty adopted in 1986 between FSM and the United States, the US is responsible for the defence of the FSM as well as for the funding of a range of government services, including postal service, building and maintenance of basic infrastructure, agricultural, economic development and social programs.

Flights OUT of Yap back to Philippines ONLY on Wed or Sunday so if you make this extension after Palau you can stay 3 days or 7 days.  You will miss that last dives on the last day of the liveaboard (Sat 14) and will be taken to the airport around midnight on the Sat 14

Dive & Stay Packages at the Yap-Pacific Dive Resort

This intimate retreat of 20 rooms and 2 Grand Suites is styled in unique 1880`s Victorian architecture offering all the amenities of a 5 Star Hotel. Divers staying at Yap Pacific Dive Resort are picked up at the resorts dock and taken directly to the many dive sites that surround the island.  Most dive sites are a 10 – 40 minute boat ride from the resort. Each guest is assigned their own locker at the aquatics center to store their equipment. There is also a full range of diving and snorkeling equipment available for rent at the resort. Nitrox is provided at Yap Pacific Divers at no additional cost.
