From Phi Phi to Purple Rock: The Best of The South Andaman Sea
Exclusive LGBT Charter

Returning once again to our home-away-from-home in the Andaman Sea:  the M/V Giamani which we chartered in 2015, 2017 and most recently in March 2021. Accommodating just 10 guests in 5 en-suite air-con cabins. The large dive deck, spacious sun deck and comfortable shaded lounge and dining area all help make this trip a real pleasure above as well as below the water line.

This 5 Day 5 Night tour will cover all the very best of the South Andaman Sea.  Some of the highlights include:-

Day 1 - Famous Phi Phi islands great for beginners and refreshers with shallow sloping shores and sandy bottoms but including deeper rocky outcrops of Bida Nok, Bida Nai & Hin Bida. Great sites to look for Leopard Sharks, Black Tip Reef Sharks and the giant red gorgonian sea fans that these sites are also famous for.

Day 2 - we head south just 2 hours sailing to the beautiful archipelago of Koh Haa. Here we will find reefs, lagoons, swim troughs, huge caverns, and a wide variety of marine life, including the occasional pelagics, such as manta rays and whale sharks. Overnight at Koh Haa and start moving around 5am to be first on site for first dive Hin Deang/Hin Muang

Day 3 - full day diving at Hin Deang/Hin Muang (Red Rock/Purple Rock) - the most famous dive sites in the South Andaman Sea. These beautiful sites get their names from the carpet of red and purple anemone that carpet the reefs at the shallow levels.  Here we will get the best chance of seeing large pelagic like manta rays and whale sharks. Strong currents can occur from time to time, so good buoyancy practiced on days 1 and 2 will come in use.  After sunset dive we set sail to the Racha islands 4 hrs sailing to spend the night there

Day 4 - Racha Yai and Racha Noi.  Both islands are mainly made of granite rock and characterized by very clear water and protected bays providing perfect conditions for diving. The fauna is quite varied with a large number of different species. The dominance are reef fish such as Damsel, Parrot fish, Butterfly fish, Box fish, Lion fish, Scorpion fish and also various Moray eels hiding between rocks and coral heads. In the sand you can come across small stingrays with blue dots and eagle rays.  Leave Racha islands early next morning for King Crusier Wreck, Anemone Reef and Shark Point

Day 5 - our last dive day is still packed with action.  In March 2014 the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources delivered the 50 meter ex-naval gunship, HTMS Kled Kaew and was sunk as an artificial reef.  Sitting at 26 m depth the newly sunk wreck is home to thousands of fish, including lion fish, porcupine fish, grouper, rabbit fish, snapper, damselfish, trevally, squid and baracuda.  Another famous Phuket dive site is Anemone Reef a small underwater limestone pinnacle starting at a depth of approximately 26 meters and rising up to just a few meters below the surface. This site is named after the beautiful red anemones that cover the area as if it was draped with a soft blanket. Despite the fact that this is a relatively small site, the abundance of its marine life is astonishing.
